Manu Varma, DO

I am currently a pediatric heart failure and transplant cardiologist at NYU Langone with training and board certification in pediatric cardiology, general pediatrics, and internal medicine. The goal of my work is to “get kids from here to there”—to guide and support the care of young patients with serious illnesses from critical care to long term health as children and adults. Clinically, the majority of my effort is with our heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and heart failure patients, but I am also involved with our dedicated Fontan clinic, cardiac evaluation of hepatology and liver transplant patients, and general pediatric cardiology. I have research experience in long term outcomes of pediatric heart transplantation, the use of large data registries to study risk factors in cardiology, and thrombosis and anticoagulation. Finally, I have been personally affected by organ transplantation since an early age and always look forward to opportunities to be involved in the larger transplant community.
