Zane’s journey with Nephrotic Syndrome began shortly after his first birthday, marked by inexplicable swelling and a cascade of medical consultations. Despite high hopes for remission, initial treatments with high-dose steroids yielded little success, plunging us into a world of uncertainty and relentless research for alternative solutions. Over the course of a challenging year, Zane experienced repeated bouts of swelling and numerous hospital visits, undergoing various treatments and medications in search of relief.
Amidst the turmoil, we found strength in our network of support, from dedicated medical professionals to fellow families navigating similar journeys.
Through unwavering determination and a commitment to exploring every avenue, Zane eventually achieved his first remission, though the road to stability remained fraught with setbacks. Despite these obstacles, Zane’s resilience shines through as he embraces life with boundless enthusiasm and vigor.
Today, Zane finds joy in activities like breakdancing, biking, and skateboarding, embodying the spirit of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

At the 2024 Countdown to a Cure 20th anniversary gala, Zane Cabison and his family were honored. Battling FSGS since 15 months old, he endured daily medications, infusions, and hospital stays—spending his 2nd birthday in the hospital. Thankfully, he achieved remission by age 3.
