FSGS Awareness Day 2025
On June 10th, NephCure is proud to recognize the 1st annual FSGS Awareness Day, a day dedicated time to spotlight Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS)—a rare, progressive kidney disease that can lead to kidney failure.
FSGS affects individuals of all ages, often progressing silently until significant kidney damage has occurred. By raising awareness, we aim to empower patients, support caregivers, and advance research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
The time to be proactive is now. Join NephCure on June 10th at 7pm ET for a town hall sharing the tools, resources, and expert connections to help you take charge of your health.

Meet Joshua Albright. A happy and seemingly-healthy 17-year-old who had just graduated from high school, and on his way to college—his whole life ahead of him. By pure chance, Joshua and his mother had discovered he was in the midst of a high blood pressure crisis. Despite wanting to hang out with his friends, she sent Joshua straight to the ER
His experiences highlight the resilience, difficulties, and triumphs that come with managing a rare kidney disease.
Through his voice, we gain a deeper understanding of what it means to live with FSGS, and the importance of awareness, support, and research in improving the lives of those affected.
What is FSGS?
Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a disease that causes scarring in the kidney’s filtering units, leading to protein loss in the urine, swelling, and decreased kidney function. It is a leading cause of nephrotic syndrome and can progress to end-stage kidney disease.
