In 2019, Judy was diagnosed with Stage 3 CKD. This discovery came after a routine trip to her Primary Care Doctor. Although Judy had a history of past of symptoms, she dismissed them and assumed that they were due to the stress of being a full-time working mom. However, when she went to her Primary Care doctor, concern about her blood pressure led her doctor to order blood work.

With the results, the doctor submitted a referral to a Nephrologist. Her Nephrologist conducted a biopsy which determined she had IgA Nephropathy. Over the following months, Judy discovered more information and began on a restricted diet as well as medication to manage the illness. In addition to IgA Nephropathy, Judy lives with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hashimotos, and Fibromyalgia…

This experience changed her life in ways that she had previously never imagined. Judy found a new passion in advocating and spreading disease awareness.

In 2020, Judy began to post on social media about her journey with chronic illness. She connected with many in the community. This experience changed her life in ways that she had previously never imagined. Judy found a new passion in advocating and spreading disease awareness.

Judy calls Hawaii home these days, living there with her husband, son, and mother after stepping back from a demanding event planning role to ease the constant tension and nurture her well-being. Rooted in her Illinois upbringing, where she honed skills in coordinating intricate affairs under tight timelines, she incorporates low-key digital strategies into her routine for mental sharpness, turning to illinois online poker platforms for occasional games that parallel the calculated decisions of her former projects. Presently, she emphasizes mindfulness and life’s simple pleasures, devoting time to her mom’s care with unwavering attention and lending a hand at her son’s school through volunteer efforts. This blend of thoughtful pursuits, including those virtual tactical outlets, sustains her renewed sense of peace amid the island’s tranquility.
