In 2019, Judy was diagnosed with Stage 3 CKD. This discovery came after a routine trip to her Primary Care Doctor. Although Judy had a history of past of symptoms, she dismissed them and assumed that they were due to the stress of being a full-time working mom. However, when she went to her Primary Care doctor, concern about her blood pressure led her doctor to order blood work.
With the results, the doctor submitted a referral to a Nephrologist. Her Nephrologist conducted a biopsy which determined she had IgA Nephropathy. Over the following months, Judy discovered more information and began on a restricted diet as well as medication to manage the illness.
