Britta Dornan, MPA

As NephCure’s Vice President of External Affairs, Britta Dornan leads the strategy and oversight of the organization’s government advocacy programs, physician education initiatives, and industry relations efforts. Prior to joining NephCure, Britta served as Senior Director of Communications and Marketing at the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases, where she led the creation and execution of advocacy communication strategies to achieve the Foundation’s federal and state policy and legislative goals. Britta has also previously served in leadership roles in government, including as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Governor of Maryland, Director of Partnerships and Program Development for the Maryland Department of Labor, and Chief of Staff for the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from Pace University.

Britta is a rare disease patient herself — she has lived with primary lymphedema for over three decades. Despite wearing compression garments on her legs 24 hours a day, she remains determined to challenge her limits rather than to let lymphedema limit her challenges. She is a long-time advocate on behalf of the lymphedema community, earning the Outstanding Advocacy Award from the Lymphatic Education & Research Network.
