Matthew Johnson

Director, Government Relations & Advocacy

Matthew Johnson is the Director of Government Relations and Advocacy at NephCure, having joined in March 2024. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in history and political science from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to his role at NephCure, he dedicated his career to impactful work at various non-profit organizations, accumulating over 7 years of experience in nonprofits. His extensive career in public service began, where he contributed to numerous legislative issues, including healthcare, showcasing more than 15 years of experience in government, policy, and advocacy.

Matthew calls Washington, DC home, where he lives with his wife Angie and their dog, Barkley. When he’s not deeply immersed in the intricacies of government affairs, you can catch him passionately cheering for Penn State football, jet-setting with his better half, and staying in the know about the latest in politics and pop culture.
