Scott E. Wenderfer, M.D., PhD

Dr. Wenderfer is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). He received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Cincinnati as well as training in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology at the University of Texas in Houston. As a staff nephrologist at Texas Children’s Hospital, he treats children with all forms of glomerular disease.

Lay Summary of the Project:

Dr. Wenderfer leads a research team that performs clinical and translational studies on complement and antibody-mediated kidney diseases. He is a member of the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC) and a site investigator for the Cure Glomerulopathy Network (CureGN). Current efforts in his laboratory focus on genetic and autoimmune causes of subsets of patients with Nephrotic Syndrome, such as those with C1q Nephropathy.
