Melissa Donovan

Community Leader

Melissa was born, raised, and has a family of her own, in southern Connecticut. Melissa is a mom of two, Marybeth (15) and Andrew (AJ/13) Donovan. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and spends her days as a special educator to students who suffer from complex medical conditions and cannot attend traditional school. When she is not teaching, she is working to support the Nephcure community in its mission to educate and bring together physicians, patients and their families. AJ was only 3 years old when he & the whole family were introduced to the rare kidney world. Today, AJ’s condition is controlled with ongoing treatments, but the search for a cure always be Melissa’s biggest priority. Melissa has and will continue to lean on the Nephcure community, its resources, and be a support for patients and their caregivers for however long before this condition is given a cure.
