I was training to climb Mt. Ranier. I completed a 14 mile hike on Sunday with a full pack, and was in the ER the following week. I had biopsies and was diagnosed with Minimal Change Disease, and later FSGS. I have had a complete colectomy after a diagnosis of colon cancer (in the same year as kidney diagnosis), and many attendant health issues, including a major heart attack.

I am still very active, and my Fitbit says I have excellent fitness for my age. Keep moving as much as possible. These diseases vary by patient so your experience will vary, but they are very challenging mentally and physically. Some things will be beyond your control, but I have used exercise, diet, and meditation to keep me moving forward. Good luck with your journey!
