Further information will be provided closer to the conference.
All medical students, graduate students (Master, PhD, including those enrolled in joint degree programs, i.e., MD/PhD, MD/MPH, etc.), residents, fellows, and researchers are invited to submit research on the topics aligning with the topics listed in the scientific program including:
- podocyte development
- podocyte structure
- crosstalk within glomerulus
- mechanisms of podocyte and glomerular injury
- immune and complement-mediated glomerular injury
- genetic causes of nephrotic syndrome
- model systems to study podocyte biology
- novel therapies to target podocyte injury and glomerular disease
- other topics relevant to podocyte biology and chronic kidney disease with glomerular component.
At least one co-author listed on the abstract submission must be present to discuss research accepted for the conference; this co-author does not have to be the primary author.
Abstracts should include the title, the authors’ names, affiliations, and the text of the abstract (2,500 characters including spaces in total). The text should be written in English and include relevant background, methods, results, and conclusions. Please do not include tables or images.
All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the scientific committee. Acceptance will be communicated to the authors. Selected abstracts will be presented in Poster format. Some of the abstracts may be selected for an oral presentation (seven minutes, including questions). This will be communicated to the authors ahead of time to allow sufficient time for preparation.
Changes in the text will be possible until March 31, 2018. Revised abstracts should be re-submitted to the email address you received upon paying for your first abstract submission.
After the deadline, no changes will be accepted.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the journal Nephron by Karger.
