Descripci\u00f3n general y s\u00edntomas:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La nefropat\u00eda membranosa (NM) es una enfermedad renal poco com\u00fan caracterizada por un engrosamiento de la parte del ri\u00f1\u00f3n que filtra la sangre: la membrana basal glomerular. La membrana m\u00e1s gruesa no funciona normalmente y hace que la prote\u00edna que pertenece a la sangre se derrame en la orina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los primeros s\u00edntomas de la nefropat\u00eda membranosa:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hinchaz\u00f3n en partes del cuerpo, m\u00e1s notablemente alrededor de los ojos, manos, pies y abdomen (llamado edema)<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

La \u00fanica forma de diferenciar la nefropat\u00eda membranosa de otras afecciones del s\u00edndrome nefr\u00f3tico primario es mediante una biopsia de ri\u00f1\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

La MN ocurre con m\u00e1s frecuencia en adultos que en ni\u00f1os y es m\u00e1s frecuente en adultos de 40 a\u00f1os o m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

El MN se asocia con menos del 5% de todos los casos nuevos de s\u00edndrome nefr\u00f3tico en ni\u00f1os cada a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Algunos pacientes con nefropat\u00eda membranosa son resistentes a los esteroides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tratando su enfermedad<\/h2>\n\n\n

Metas a corto plazo <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

El objetivo a corto plazo del tratamiento es detener por completo el derrame de prote\u00ednas (remisi\u00f3n) o reducir la cantidad de prote\u00ednas perdidas en la orina tanto como sea posible.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Metas a largo plazo <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Los objetivos del tratamiento a largo plazo incluyen prevenir las reca\u00eddas de prote\u00ednas en la orina y prevenir el deterioro de la funci\u00f3n renal.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Actualmente no existen opciones de medicamentos aprobadas por la FDA para la MN. El tratamiento est\u00e1ndar de primera l\u00ednea para la NM es la prednisona, un corticosteroide.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n
