Sean Converse es un estudiante de segundo a\u00f1o de 19 a\u00f1os que estudia Comunicaciones en Saint Anselm College en Goffstown, New Hampshire. A Sean le diagnosticaron nefropat\u00eda IgA (NIgA) despu\u00e9s de luchar contra una enfermedad aguda de las v\u00edas respiratorias superiores y de m\u00faltiples visitas al hospital a finales de 2022. Sean ha sido atleta toda su vida. Comenz\u00f3 a jugar y participar en actividades como f\u00fatbol, baloncesto y b\u00e9isbol desde muy joven, lo que lo llev\u00f3 a priorizar el bienestar f\u00edsico y mental a lo largo de su vida. Le encanta la competencia, abraza el esp\u00edritu de equipo y siempre infunde liderazgo en su vida diaria, su personalidad y sus objetivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justo antes de su diagn\u00f3stico, Sean planeaba jugar para el equipo de f\u00fatbol de su universidad y se encontraba en \u00f3ptimas condiciones f\u00edsicas debido al programa de entrenamiento de verano. El diagn\u00f3stico de NIgA fue repentino e impactante tanto para Sean como para su familia, dada su excelente salud f\u00edsica y su ausencia de antecedentes familiares de enfermedad renal. Sin embargo, la mentalidad deportiva y la formaci\u00f3n en liderazgo de Sean le permitieron liderar con una actitud positiva y tomar medidas inmediatas...<\/p>\n\n\n
\nAl comprender que el conocimiento es poder, la familia Converse emprendi\u00f3 una b\u00fasqueda para aprender y establecer conexiones dentro de la comunidad de enfermedades renales raras, lo que finalmente los llev\u00f3 a NephCure.<\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<\/div>\n\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\nUna vez que una biopsia confirm\u00f3 la NIgA, Sean sigui\u00f3 los pasos recomendados e inmediatamente trabaj\u00f3 con el equipo de Nefrolog\u00eda del Boston Children's Hospital, quienes lo ayudaron a \u00e9l y a su familia a desarrollar y dise\u00f1ar un plan m\u00e9dico personalizado. Este enfoque gui\u00f3 a Sean y su familia, quienes constantemente han sido solidarios, optimistas y decididos a mantener una perspectiva saludable y una mente abierta. Al comprender que el conocimiento es poder, la familia Converse emprendi\u00f3 una b\u00fasqueda para aprender y establecer conexiones dentro de la comunidad de enfermedades renales raras, lo que finalmente los llev\u00f3 a NephCure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
En la verdadera forma de Sean, ha manejado su diagn\u00f3stico con gracia y ha seguido pautas de dieta renal para mantener un estilo de vida saludable y activo, mientras se educa constantemente y siempre irradia y transmite positividad a los dem\u00e1s. Est\u00e1 agradecido por su maravilloso equipo de nefrolog\u00eda en el Children's Hospital de Boston y se complace en informar que su funci\u00f3n renal actualmente es buena y est\u00e1 controlando exitosamente su NIgA. A medida que Sean contin\u00faa aprendiendo y creciendo, asumiendo este nuevo desaf\u00edo con gracia, energ\u00eda y fuerza, su esperanza es inspirar a otras personas que viven con RKD, as\u00ed como a aquellos reci\u00e9n diagnosticados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
