
NephCure Advocacy Leads to Change for Louisiana

In April, NephCure featured Sharon Dufrene and her son Ty, a
patient family that needed the NephCure community’s help with a difficult
situation. Ty, a well-mannered 3rd grader at Lockport Upper
Elementary School in Louisiana, was being prohibited from participating in a
school program that rewards students for achieving good grades, behavior and
attendance. Why? Because Ty’s kidney condition – Nephrotic Syndrome

night, learning the game of basketball from several prominent basketball
figures in support of The NephCure Foundation, an organization committed to
supporting research for improved treatments and a cure for kidney disease Focal
Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Nephrotic Syndrome.
