Miami, FL - Future NBA Hall-of-Famer Alonzo Mourning was
one of the keynote speakers during the 9th International Podocyte
Conference in Miami, FL. Mourning, who suffered from the kidney disease Focal
Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and eventually needed a transplant, spoke
to the doctors and researchers in the room during the opening of the conference
on April 23.
On April 21-22, 2012, The NephCure Foundation hosted the Research Accelerator Meetings (RAM) in Miami Beach, FL.
There was a tremendous, record-setting turnout on Sunday,
April 29 for the third annual NephCure Amazing Race in Ventura County,
California.
In a groundbreaking
medical report, U.S. doctors describe a case where a kidney transplanted into
one patient had to be removed but was then successfully transplanted into
another patient.

NEW YORK, NY (April 17, 2012)-- The NephCure Foundation today received a $60,000 donation from The Celebrity Apprentice through the efforts of contestant and reality television star Teresa Giudice, who at the time was one of the few surviving cast members on the hit NBC primetime show.
On Monday, April 30, The NephCure Foundation is
sponsoring the “I Hate FSGS” educational session at the Hynes Convention Center
in Boston, MA, from 2-4 p.m.
Katie Miller topped the competition in the NephCure
Maniacs NCAA Tournament Bracket Pool and will walk away with an iPad for her
efforts, as nearly 60 participants helped raise $2500 in the fight against the kidney disease FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome.
