Internship/Community Service Opportunity
NephCure National Mini Golf Tournament!
Looking to do something meaningful this summer? Like a challenge you can do with friends? LOVE Mini Golf?
The NephCure Foundation is holding the first annual NephCure National Mini Golf Tournament campaign in 2011.
Fifteen mini golf tournaments will be organized by “interns” around the country who are high school or college-aged, and who want to learn more about non-profit work, event planning and fundraising as well as supporting a cause. Each tournament will be held on behalf of an area family affected by chronic kidney disease. To read some of their stories, click here.
Interns can complete this project from their home and community in the late spring/summer 2011. All participants will receive internship or community service credit and a letter of reference as well as the all the personal benefits that come with benevolence. It will involve approximately 80-100 hours.
The internship will involve:
- Participation in bi-weekly training conference calls
- Determining and securing a location near you for the mini golf tournament
- Inviting 18 friends to be team captains of foursomes
- Helping friends/peers to set up online fundraising pages and fundraise
- Working with your group to acquire community sponsorship
- Lining up entertainment for the event
- Overseeing all day-of and post-event logistics.
Interns will be organized by a coordinator from our national office and will be a youth-driven event. Most importantly, interns should be excited about raising awareness, about an internship opportunity and about mini golf!
For more information, contact Nadia Stadnycki at nstadnycki@nephcure.org or call 610.540.0186 x26.
