Ragan Hits the Dirt Track to Raise Money for NCF

photoNASCAR Driver and NephCure Foundation Ambassador David Ragan competed in a charity dirt-track race event on Saturday, July 23 at the Dublin 441 Speedway in Dublin, Georgia, raising money for The NephCure Foundation and Shriners Hospital for Children.

According to track officials, a record number of people came out for the event.

Ragan, who drives the No. 6 UPS Ford for the Roush Fenway Racing Team and won his first Sprint Cup race July 2 at Daytona International Speedway, has served as a NephCure Foundation Ambassador for the last two years, helping the kidney disease non-profit raise money and awareness against the diseases Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis and Nephrotic Syndrome.

In addition to the charity race, Ragan is also the honorary chairperson for NephCure’s Keys For A Cure, which will award one lucky participant with a new Ford or $15,000 cash. Learn more at www.keysforacure.org.

“With Jet Food Stores, which has been a longtime sponsor of mine, we do some charity work with The NephCure Foundation and the Shriners Children’s Hospital,” said Ragan. “We’ve decided to come to the racetrack, promote these two great charities and the race track is donating some of the proceeds tonight back to these charities.”

Jet Food Stores president Charles Turner’s daughter, Madison, suffers from kidney disease. Charles is a member of NephCure’s Board of Directors. Ragan attends the Jet Food Stores annual charity golf outing, which has raised over $200,000 for NephCure since its inception.
