Kidney Kid In-Store Program: Generating Money and Awareness

photoThe NephCure Foundation organizes a number of events and activities throughout the year to generate money and awareness in the fight against the kidney diseases FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome.

One of the leading initiatives is NephCure’s in-store Kidney Kid sales program, which allows shoppers to make a donation to NephCure and have their name displayed on a kidney icon that can be posted in the store. Over the last few years, the program has been a success thanks to NephCure Foundation Board Member Charles Turner, whose daughter, Madison, suffers from FSGS.

As founder and president of Jet Food Stores, a convenience store chain, Turner has helped NephCure raise more than $80,000 through this program since its inception last year.

Jet Food Stores sold nearly $30,000 worth of kidney icons in stores this year, while supporting convenience store, Aden’s Minit Market, recently raised almost $13,000 through the popular campaign.

If you know of a store willing to take part in the in-store Kidney Kid program, please contact Nadia Stadnycki at nstadnycki@nephcure.org.
